Miss Yi

Hi, I’m Yi, the founder and educator behind Happy Mandarin Academy.

I was born and raised in southern China, where my journey as an educator began as an English teacher. After moving to the United States, I continued pursuing my passion for education and earned my degree in Early Childhood Education.

Over the years, my experiences as a teacher have shaped me in many ways, but becoming a mom to two young children has given me an entirely new perspective on childhood. I understand how important it is for parents to know that their child is not only learning, but is also genuinely known, cared for, and loved throughout the day.

Being bilingual and having lived and taught in both China and the United States has also given me a deep appreciation for language and culture. I love being able to share Mandarin naturally with young children and give them an opportunity to experience another language and culture from an early age.

I created Happy Mandarin Academy to bring together the parts of my life that mean the most to me: education, children, language, culture, and family. As both an educator and a mom, I’m excited to welcome a small group of children into our preschool community and be part of these important early years of their lives.
